Natasha Smith

Natasha Smith is a Spiegel Research Center fellow and a full-time student in the Medill Integrated Marketing Communications program. She has experience in marketing, design, and strategy development, most recently working as a marketing coordinator for an oilfield services company in Texas. Her experience as a graphic designer has led to a passion for data visualization and storytelling. She holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising from The University of Texas at Austin.

Yuchen Luo

Yuchen Luo is a Spiegel Research Center fellow and a full-time student in the Medill Integrated Marketing Communications program. After completing his undergrad at USC majoring in Business Administration and minoring in Sports Media, Luo worked for a Santa Monica ad agency where he analyzed consumer, competitive, and campaign performance data to provide insightful media planning recommendations. This experience opened up his interest in the application of data analytics in marketing and advertising. Beyond data analytics, he is developing his newfound interest in coding by taking online coding courses and training programs. Luo is passionate about technology, and his long-term career goal is to help a technology start-up succeed by utilizing his skill sets in data analytics, marketing, and strategy consulting.

Allen Zhou

Xiaoyu “Allen” Zhou, is a Spiegel Research Center fellow and a full-time student in the Medill Integrated Marketing Communications program. Prior to Medill, he attended Renmin University in China, where he earned his bachelor’s in business administration and a minor in law.  Zhou’s work experience includes time in automotive industry and working for a Chinese search engine company, where he honed his marketing and data-based analysis skills. Zhou hopes to pursue data analytics and consulting in his future career.

Shawn Ma

Xiangheng “Shawn” Ma is a Spiegel Research Center fellow and a full-time student in the Medill Integrated Marketing Communications program. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in electronic information science and technology from East China Normal University in Shanghai, China.  During his undergraduate career, Ma gained experience in coding, learned new techniques to solve problems, and participated in several technology innovation competitions. He developed an Android App as his graduation project, which can give users their heart rate using only their smart phones. After graduation, Ma interned at the Bank of China and Johnson & Johnson, where he became interested in database marketing. He plans to pursue a job on the analytical side of marketing in the future.

Vera Zhang

Vera Zhang is a Spiegel Research Center fellow and a full-time student in the Medill Integrated Marketing Communications program. Prior to Medill, she worked as an associate marketing manager in a consumer product company for two years in China, where she led her team to deliver several nationwide marketing campaigns and PR events. Zhang’s marketing background gave her training to be logical and creative at the same time. She is passionate about marketing, new technology, and the fashion and beauty industries and looks forward to pursuing a career in one of those areas upon graduation.

Maxine Yu

Yinmiao “Maxine” Yu is a Spiegel Research Center fellow and a full-time student in the Medill Integrated Marketing Communications program.  She is also the social media director for Medill’s marketing news blog, Vitamin IMC.  Yu has a bachelor’s degree in Land Resource Management from Zhejiang University, China and a master’s degree in Business Marketing from the University of Warwick, UK.  During her internship at Mead Johnson Nutrition Company as marketing assistant, she was responsible for market segmentation research and analysis. Yu is passionate about marketing strategy and has experience in imitation based marketing behavior.

Pavinee Praneeprachachon

Pavinee Praneeprachachon is a Spiegel Research Center fellow and a full-time student in the Medill Integrated Marketing Communications program. After completing her bachelor’s degree in Economics at New York University, she worked at Tilleke & Gibbins International as a paralegal. She later pursued her passion in marketing after joining Pomelo Fashion, where she optimized advertisements to increase customer acquisition and awareness for the online fashion startup. At Medill, she hopes to develop an expertise in marketing analytics to jumpstart her career in E-Commerce and online advertising.

Ruben Bravo

Ruben Bravo is a Spiegel Research Center fellow and a full time student in the Medill Integrated Marketing Communications program. He has consulting experience in marketing and has been running a small digital firm for five years. His clients are located in the United States and Mexico and represent a wide variety of industries. His interests include the study of human behavior, neuromarketing, analytics, and new technology. Ruben holds a bachelor's degree in marketing and entrepreneurship from The University of Arizona.

Smriti Khanna

Smriti Khanna is a Spiegel Research Center fellow and a full-time student in the Medill Integrated Marketing Communications program. She has worked in brand management in the consumer packaged goods industry for the last four years in Asia. While working across a variety of brands and markets, the growing importance of Big Data and the increasing shift of control to consumers intrigued her and brought her to Medill. Smriti holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Marketing from Singapore Management University.

Warakant Jaturasil

Warakant “Gam” Jaturasil is a Spiegel Research Center Fellow and a full-time student at Medill’s Integrated Marketing Communications program. Prior to joining IMC, Warakant worked at Thailand’s largest international media group as a marketing communications executive for ELLE Magazine.  There she accumulated experiences in both public relations and brand strategy. Her interest in how a company combines analytics, insights, strategy, and creativity to drive real market impact has brought her to Medill’s IMC program.  Warakant received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Ross School of Business at University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. In the future, Warakant hopes to pursue a career in brand strategy consulting.

Morgan Ho

Morgan Ho is the Web Editor for the Spiegel Research Center Impact Marketing Team and a full-time student at the Medill Integrated Marketing Communications program. Prior to joining Medill, she was a Research Manager at The Ultimate Fighting Championship in Las Vegas for three years. She also has eight years of experience working in the television industry at ABC Studios and Creative Artists Agency. Morgan graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Cinema-Television Critical Studies from the University of Southern California.  After working in television and sports, Morgan has become passionate about telling stories across a variety of mediums, from marketing campaigns to deriving consumer insights from analyzing data sets. She looks forward to a marketing career that will allow her to be both creative and analytical.

Sonam Rateria

Sonam Rateria is the Social Media Growth Strategist for Spiegel Research Center Impact Marketing Team and a full-time graduate student in the Medill Integrated Marketing Communications program. Prior to joining Northwestern, she gained experience in Media Panning and Digital Brand Strategy in Mumbai and London. She has worked across a variety of product categories, and in her most recent position, she handled the digital mandate for Unilever and Kimberly-Clark brand categories. She has a bachelor’s degree in Mass Media from Mumbai University and an MBA from University of Liverpool. After graduation, she hopes to build a career in brand planning with a large corporation.

Chinye Osamusali

Chinye Osamusali is the Data Visual Director for the Spiegel Research Center Impact Marketing Team and a full-time student in the Medill Integrated Marketing Communications program.  Prior to her enrollment at Northwestern, she graduated in English Rhetoric & Professional Writing from University of Waterloo in Canada. She worked for a year at SAP doing field marketing, and had several full time internships in marketing and event management. She was also the President of the Entrepreneurship Society at the University of Waterloo, where she took the lead in business development coaching and idea generation, organizing events and developing content. Following graduation in December 2016, Osamusali hopes to work for an entrepreneurial company in content marketing and media.

Katherine Khorey

Katherine Khorey is a writer for the Spiegel Research Center Impact Marketing Team and a full-time student in the Medill Integrated Marketing Communications program. She previously earned a BA in English and Russian from the University of Notre Dame, and an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Manchester (UK). Katherine has worked for Brilliance Publishing, a subsidiary of Amazon, and has had several of her own pieces published. Outside of school and Spiegel, Katherine tutors part-time and continues to write. In her career, she plans to focus on the creative use of new communications in reaching and engaging consumers.

Kalli Ricka Wolf

Kalli Ricka Wolf is a writer for the Spiegel Research Center Impact Marketing Team and a full-time student in the Medill Integrated Marketing Communications program. Prior to attending Northwestern University, she graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s in Journalism and a minor in Communication at the University of Arizona. She has held several intern positions, including blogging for a graphic design company, shadowing reporters at a news station, and as DJ Ginger Wolf for a student-run radio station. Following graduation in December 2016, Kalli dreams of moving abroad to pursue her passions in writing while working alongside people with different cultural backgrounds.
